  • Inspired by Bach: Brevard Symphony Orchestra will perform music influenced by Johann Sebastian Bach on Saturday, Jan. 21 at 7:30 p.m. at the King Center. Soprano Kyaunnee Richardson will be featured in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and music by Villa-Lobos.

  • Styx 2023 World Tour: The rock band will give a concert at the King Center on Sunday, Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. It will feature music from the band’s new studio album “Crash of the Crown.” Tickets start at $49.50.

  • Cocoa Beach Kite and Beach Fest: The sport kite competition and festival will be in downtown Cocoa Beach on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 20-21. The event kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, weather permitting, and continues through Saturday at 5 p.m. Talented kite flyers will perform to music on the beach behind Coconuts on the Beach, 2 Minutemen Causeway.   • Indian Kite Festival: The free festival will be at Fred Poppe Regional Park, 1951 Malabar Road, Palm Bay, on Sunday, Jan. 22 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Indian kites and strings will be available for purchase, but no outside strings or kites will be allowed. Melbourne Municipal Band’s Rock & Roll Revue will perform a concert of danceable oldies at the Melbourne Auditorium, 625 E Hibiscus Blvd., on Friday, Jan. 20 at 7 p.m. Under the direction of Conductor Art Martin, the 12-piece Rock & Roll Revue plays popular music from the '50s and '60s. It includes an eight-piece combo, singer Len Fallen, and the Swingtimers Vocal Trio, consisting of Connie Maltby, Diana Sageser and Dave Hutson.

“We’re getting the jump on Valentine’s Day with a fun evening of music that will take you back to your high school days,” said Martin. “And, we’ll be adding to the nostalgia with a 1957 Chevy and 1934 Ford on the dance floor.”

Food and beverages will be available for purchase at the event from City Bistro. Unlike previous years, alcoholic beverages may no longer be brought into the auditorium from outside. Those who would like to brush up on their dancing skills can do so from 6 to 7 p.m., when Chris Marcelle offers lessons. The fee for lessons is $5, payable to the instructor. Psychic medium Jeffrey Wands

Jeffrey Wands is a psychic medium and author who has appeared on “The Today Show,” “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” and A&E’s “We See Dead People.” He will give an evening of readings at the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge, 1049 Julia Drive, Melbourne, on Friday, Jan. 20 from 7 to 9 p.m. He will give readings for members of the audience in a gallery setting and then take questions from the audience regarding loved ones who have passed. There will be goody bags, raffles, a 50/50 drawing and an outdoor doggie beer garden. Proceeds will benefit Schnauzer Love Rescue, Inc. Cannon finds inspiration in her garden and creates paintings of flowers, landscapes and “skinny palms.” Her whimsical side inspires images of bicycles with flower filled baskets. Saint Paul’s Anglican Church will host a festival at 7200 N. Wickham Road, Melbourne, on Saturday, Jan. 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Activities will include a bounce house, silent auction, bake sale, police K-9 demo, live music, an inflatable obstacle course and more. $20 arm bands will give you unlimited access to the inflatables and games.
