In 2019, the beauty industry doubled down on inclusion efforts, with shade expansions and universal products defining many makeup releases. But internet culture also played a role in many of 2019’s beauty releases, with viral products and personality-backed collections finding major success in the space.

With several products launching every week, some releases fade fast into obscurity. But there are some 2019 releases that will become staples in your beauty stash for years to come. Drugstore lipstick is hit-or-miss, and Maybelline’s SuperStay Ink Crayon is a massive hit. The lipstick promises 8-hours of wear with super easy application. With hues in the red, pink and nude families, the lipstick comes in 12 gorgeous matte shades.

The beauty collection’s release on Nov. 1 crashed multiple beauty sites, but still sold out within a few hours even with the chaos. The YouTuber-created palette was especially notable, coming in a variety of unexpected shades that range from practical and adventurous.
