After Greta Gerwig's Barbie movie sparked an all-out 'Barbiecore' fashion movement, it's only natural that Barbie Halloween costumes would be in high demand. In fact, something tells us we'll be seeing enough hot pink come October 31 that we'll think we're in IRL Barbieland...

Luckily though, thanks to all of Margot Robbie's Barbie outfits (both on screen and on the press junket) and all the other Barbies and Kens for that matter, there are plenty of easy Halloween costume options—and still the possibility of standing out from the crowd.

Personally, we're seriously considering an Alan-inspired look, but if you have your heart set on Barbie herself—from her neon rollerblades to her Wizard of Oz-esque gingham dress—here are nine costumes, inspired by the iconic doll to rock this fall...

9 of the best 'Barbie' Halloween costumes to wear this year

A major selling point for choosing a Barbie-inspired costume this year is that replicas of Margot's outfits (and Ryan Gosling's too!) are easy to come by right now—plus, thanks to Barbie's affinity with hot pink in general, creating a minimal-effort look on a budget is also very doable.

For instance, you could just don some neon pink bike shorts and carry a pair of rollerblades over your shoulder and call it a day, or chuck on a bandana and fur coat and start calling everywhere your "mojo dojo casa house." The possibilities are endless.

But if you're in need of some inspo, we've rounded up a few of the best Barbie costume options to make Halloween 2023 a breeze...

1. Gingham Barbie

Of course, we just had to start with Barbie's iconic Gingham dress, which was one of the first looks we glimpse in the Barbie movie trailer.

To pull off this Wizard of Oz-like look, you can really just wear anything with a pink gingham spring, but copies of Margot's look—complete with her shell jewelry—are easy to get your hands on.

2. Rollerblading Barbie

We can see Barbie's retro, '80s rollerblading get-up being very popular this Halloween.

To rock this look, simply wear your hair in a high ponytail and opt for some neon athleisure and a pair of pink or yellow rollerblades. Alternatively, if you don't want to buy skates just for Halloween, you could wear some knee pads and a helmet instead—or just stick with some neon biker shorts. Regardless of how big you go with it, someone is sure to get the reference.

3. Cowgirl Barbie

Now we just know Halloween parties are going to be packed with every iteration of Cowgirl Barbie because this fit was just everything.

Right now you can nab some very close replicas of Margot's hot-pink western co-ord from retailers like Walmart and Amazon. But if you want to put your own spin on the look, we'd suggest opting for some white or pink flared jeans and a white cowboy hat —and if you've already got some cowboy boots in your capsule wardrobe, now's the time to wear them!

4. Cowboy Ken

Now, of course, we couldn't not include a little shout-out to Ryan Gosling's cowboy Ken look.

If you want to stand out, we'd definitely recommend opting for his tasseled shirt and pink neck scarf. For an easier and comfier option though, his viral tie-dye 'Kenough' hoodie is also a great, low-key choice.

5. Boxed Barbie

These Barbie box costumes are the perfect easy Halloween look because you can just wear whatever but add the box and bam! you're Barbie.

They do look a tad cumbersome though, so bear that in mind if you're heading out on the town.

6. Vintage Barbie

It doesn't get more iconic than Barbie's black and white striped swimsuit! Everyone will know exactly who you are when you walk in the room, especially if you pair it with a blond updo, red lipstick and a pair of black, Hailey Bieber-esque sunglasses.

Something to remember though, October 31 can be pretty darn chilly, so bring be sure to take a Barbie-approve jacket with you!

7. President Barbie

President Barbie is also a great shout for Halloween, especially if you're looking for a straightforward but easily recognizable look.

Right now you can shop Issa Rae's president sash, which will pair perfectly with a pantsuit or pink dress—you could even combine it with any of the above Barbie looks, for an all-out tribute to the movie.

8. Jumpsuit Barbie

The pink jumpsuit that all the Barbies (and Alan) wear whilst executing their plan to take down Kendom is another super easy option and would also make a great group costume with friends!

9. Real World Barbie

Sticking on the theme of easy, last minute or low-effort Barbie looks, one of the jokes from the film is that Barbie must choose a Birkenstock over a cute pair of heels, in order to travel to the real world. Then at the end of the movie (spoiler incoming, if you haven't seen it), she wears a pair of pink Birkenstocks in the real world when heading to the gynecologist.

So, you could just chuck on something pink and pair it with a pair of Birkenstock Boston and claim you're 'Real world Barbie.'
