Bernard Kerr Reveals That His Team Spent £2800 on Mcdonald's Alone

Managing a Professional bike team is a job that is like herding cats. Somehow, Bernard Kerr manages to own and manage Pivot Factory Racing and still be able to get results riding for them.

Watch Kerr discuss team finances on the Ride Companion Podcast below.

Bernard Kerr is very unique. The 31-year-old Brit has been managing and racing for the Pivot Factory Race team for years now. Pivot is a rare example of a high-profile team managed solely by one of its riders and is one of the most competitive in racing. The results speak for themselves!

All the traveling does not come cheap, however. On the show, Kerr revealed to the host that he spent £2,800 on McDonald's alone in 2022! The team was sure hungry!

Bernard said in the podcast that he had to argue with his athletes who sprung for the chicken nuggets and sundaes to stick to the normal meal. Running a team does not seem too different from parenthood!

It is clear from this interview with Bernard that he is not overly concerned with money. The team is a passion project, and he spends what he needs to to make it work and the remainder is his salary. Earlier in the podcast, Kerr mentioned that he was taking a pay cut due to the downturn in the industry. It is refreshing to see teams run out of love for the sport. It is how it should be!
