Benefit Cosmetics

Benefit Cosmetics has always had an extensive makeup collection, but for any beauty lover, the famous POREfessional primer and setting spray are probably the two iconic staples that come to mind.

While the brand has only dabbled in the likes of makeup since 1976, they’ve finally expanded into skin care under the name of their popular primer—the POREfessional—with a specific focus on, you guessed it, pore care.

With the collection, the brand aims to show people that they can be doing more for their skin when it comes to pore cleansing, especially if you’re a makeup wearer. The collection features six products to start, including two masks, two cleansers, a toner, moisturizer, and cleansing tool. All of the packaging comes in chic post-consumer recycled aluminum jars, bottles, and tubes.

The entire line is available to shop exclusively on Benefitcosmetics.com now, and it launches on other retailers (Sephora.com, Ulta.com, Macys.com, etc) on 2/26. The new line will roll out in stories March 1.

To give you a sneak peek, we test-drove and reviewed every product in the new collection, below.

The POREfessional Skincare Lineup

The POREfessional Good Cleanup: pore-purifying foaming cleanser

This cleanser feels like a deep, energizing cleanse without being harsh on skin. Best used as a second cleanse, it’s a lightweight gel formula that bubbles up with a great lather, removing dirt and excess sebum. (Plus, the light scent of lemon and yuzu extract is lovely in the morning.)

The POREfessional Tight ‘N Toned: pore-refining AHA + PHA toning foam

You’ve heard of a foaming cleanser—but a toner? This first-to-market foaming toner has a pump application and completely eliminates the need for cotton rounds or mess when you pour liquid into your hands. The formula contains AHAs, PHAs, lemon extract, and yuzu extract for a deep balancing cleanse.

The POREfessional Get Unblocked: Pore-clearing makeup-removing cleansing oil

This mess-free cleansing oil comes in an easy aluminum pump and does a stellar job at dissolving all makeup (even waterproof mascara, we checked). It contains grape seed, jojoba seed, and avocado oil—not only is it great for unclogging your pores, the ceramides and bisabolol will hydrate and repair your skin barrier.

The POREfessional Deep Retreat: pore-clearing clay mask

A hydrating clay mask seems too good to be true, but Benefit really delivers with this one. The mask delivers a 12-hour mattifying effect thanks to mineral-rich kaolin clay, sea fennel extract, and bisabolol. Meanwhile, jojoba seed oil, plum kernel oil, essential fatty acids and sphingolipids (ceramide-like molecules) help preserve initial skin hydration. (Fun visual: You’ll be able to spot the little dots of sebum and oil as the mask draws them out from problem areas.)

The POREfessional Smooth Sip: lightweight smoothing moisturizer for pores

This product is ideal for oily or combination skin thanks to its lightweight gel texture. It primes your skin for flawless makeup application, hydrates, and improves your skin texture over time with key ingredients like niacinamide, squalane, and aloe leaf juice.

The POREfessional Speedy Smooth: quick smoothing pore mask

Need a quick fix? This mask is a mini facial in a pinch. The lightweight gel formula transforms to a dry clay and leaves pores looking smaller and skin feeling smoother.

The POREfessional All-in-one mask wand: face mask applicator and cleansing tool

If you want to keep things sanitary and mess-free, this versatile, double-sided tool features a spatula on one end (to apply product) and an exfoliating cleansing brush on the other (to remove product).
