Benefit's New Hello Happy Foundation Is Made For No-Makeup Makeup Days

Instagram beauty account Trendmood1 shared a sneak peek of Benefit's upcoming Hello Happy foundation, which is a sheer skin tint with SPF 15.

Nothing stops a scroll in its tracks like a new foundation post from a beauty brand on Instagram. That @trendmood1 Instagram account is like a detective and gossip columnist rolled into one beauty-obsessed feed. More often than not, it's the first to leak upcoming makeup launches before press releases reach editor inboxes, and the latest sneak peek is a pretty exciting one. A regrammed photo shows what appears to be a new foundation from Benefit Cosmetics called Hello Happy.

"NEW! about to drop !! 👀🙉💸 by @benefitcosmetics : #HelloHappy 💗 Soft Blur #Foundation Sheer-medium coverage, liquid foundation SPF15 1.0oz. Includes 12! Shades (will confirm)," the caption says.

The packaging appears to be rectangular — clear on the bottom to make the shade inside visible, with a reflective hot-pink cap. The front shows the brand's logo and the product name in lowercase letters, while the back features a cute smiley face with heart-shaped eyes.

The post has already garnered more than 13,000 likes and hundreds of comments, ranging from enthusiastic to critical. "I love a good light foundation for the summer!!" one commenter wrote. "Cannot wait! Too cute," said another. Most of the negative comments were in response to the unconfirmed number of shades that will be available. "Only 12? Not even 15? 30 should be standard by now," one Instagrammer said.

Allure reached out to Benefit Cosmetics for more info and will update with new info as we receive it. In addition to the official number of shades, we'd most like to know if and when this foundation will be available in the U.S., as the photo @trendmood1 posted was taken at a Sephora in Spain. We have a good feeling it will be, though.

In the meantime, Benefit offers four current foundations: Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow liquid foundation, Hello Flawless powder foundation, The POREfessional Pore Minimizing Makeup, and Big Easy BB cream.

Looks like, the brand is looking to add a lighter coverage complexion coverage product to the mix so they're covered for no-makeup makeup days as well as your more full-coverage occasions.
