Ben Smith responds to rumors that he wants to become the next Bachelor.
Ben made it to the final two in Tayshia Adam's season of The Bachelorette.
Ben Smith might not have gotten the final rose on Tayshia Adam's season of The Bachelorette, but that doesn't mean his search for love (on national TV) is over. Ben had quite the dramatic journey on Tayshia's season. After being sent home after hometown dates, he returned and made it to the final two. Tayshia ultimately accepted Zac Clark's proposal, but some fans think Ben deserves another shot at love.
While appearing on former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe's podcast, Off the Vine, he addressed the rumors. He admitted that he'd never watched the show before and didn't have a plan to be cast. After recognizing that "something might happen that's great," he explained that he didn't expect to continue being part of the Bachelor franchise. "I never had any intentions of doing anything more," he explained.
Watching Ben get sent home was totally cringey. You could tell Tayshia was looking for a reason to keep him, but Ben wasn't opening up to her completely. "I’m not asking for this grand gesture, but the fact he couldn’t give me one ounce of emotion was extremely disappointing,” she admitted after she sent Ben home. But, as we all know, he showed up and told her, "I’ve never felt this feeling, but I’m in love with you."
This declaration of love made him a favorite among a lot of fans. "If he’s not her boyfriend/fiancé at the end of this, he needs to be the next bachelor after Matt!!" one fan wrote before Tayshia's season ended. Another commented on one of his Instagram photos, "Ben for the next bachelor!" Another fan added, "BEN FOR THE BACHELOR 2022."
At the very least, Ben for Bachelor in Paradise!!
