Ben and Erin Napier Adore This Tiny Georgia City

It's safe to say that Ben and Erin Napier know a thing or two about small towns. As Laurel, Mississippi's Patron Saints of Renovation, we definitely trust the HGTV Home Town stars' judgement when it comes to pinpointing incredible small towns in the South.

That's why we were excited to hear more about why Bainbridge, Georgia, is on the couple's radar following one of Ben's recent Instagram posts. "6 years ago, there was a little deli where @theamericanbainbridgega sits. @erinapier and I stopped there for lunch on a road trip. Nobody was eating there, and despite being a beautiful town, nobody was on the square. The American is amazing and if you’re in the area, you need to go check it out. @heatherjonesthomas and @tyler_theamerican_chef have done something amazing," Ben captions a photo of The American, a local restaurant. "The square was completely alive when we arrived yesterday. Last night, I talked to a dozen people about historic buildings they’d restored or small businesses they own in downtown Bainbridge. I love to see a small town coming back to life!!"

Located in the Southwestern portion of the state, the tiny city of approximately 12,111 residents has indeed made a large impression on the Napiers, thanks to an amazing young boy named Cloud Kirbo. On Instagram, Erin shared more about Cloud's debilitating diagnosis with Krabbe disease:

This is Helen. She is almost 2 years old, she is happy and healthy. I used this photo first because I knew it would get your attention because we rarely show photos of her face here, because I want you to swipe through and you will see photos of a different toddler, a little boy named Cloud Kirbo from Bainbridge, GA. When I first saw him and heard his story, I instantly saw a little of Helen in him and knew it could happen to her, or any of our babies we try so hard to protect. Just a few months ago, Cloud lost his ability to walk and soon doctors diagnosed him with Krabbe disease, a rare and deadly disorder of the nervous system. On October 5, @scotsman.co and I will be at a charity event in Bainbridge, GA that will help Cloud’s family with their enormous medical expenses. I hope y’all will buy tickets and join us at this gala or give what you can to their fundraising campaign that would be a blessing to this family. Now, both Cloud and Bainbridge have earned a special place in the Napiers hearts: "We’ve only passed through once and then last weekend it was incredible to see the way this entire little town is pulling together to help take care of a little three-year-old boy who’s very sick with a fatal disease," Napier told Southern Living of the fundraiser they attended for Cloud. "Their town is the picture of restoration and community, with so many businesses coming to life on their historic square that was all but silent six years ago, and everyone working together to help that family. It made my heart feel like bursting. "
