Just over three months after their whirlwind engagement, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are officially married! The couple tied the knot during an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas, which the singer and actress confirmed Sunday evening in her newsletter, On the JLo. "We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient," she wrote.

Their decades-long romance kicked off in the early 2000s, when they met on set while filming the romantic comedy Gigli. Shortly after, the duo got engaged in November 2002, but ultimately decided to call their union off in 2003. Now, 20 years later, Lopez and Affleck finally found their happy ending—and it seems it all went down just how they dreamed it would.

"Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas, stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world," Lopez wrote in her newsletter. "Behind us two men held hands and held each other. In front of us, a young couple who made the three hour drive from Victorville on their daughter's second birthday—all of us wanting the same thing—for the world to recognize us as partners and to declare our love to the world through the ancient and nearly universal symbol of marriage."

Their union took place in a little white wedding chapel that Lopez says stayed open a few minutes late for them, giving the couple time to exchange their vows and take photos in a pink Cadillac convertible that Elvis Presley himself is rumored to have sat in. "So with the best witnesses you could ever imagine, a dress from an old movie and a jacket from Ben's closet, we read our own vows in the little chapel and gave one another the rings we'll wear for the rest of our lives," she wrote.

The celebrity's newsletter post also included a handful of photos from the special occasion. In them, she gave us a glimpse of her two big day looks—the first, a stunning sleeveless dress with an A-line waist and embossed pattern, was the piece she saved from a past movie set; it served as her "something old." "I've had this dress for so many years, and I've just been saving it, saving it, saving it, and now I'm wearing it on my wedding day," she says in a video clip. At the chapel, Lopez changed into a high-fashion Zuhair Murad gown, which featured an off-the-shoulder design with a sweetheart neckline, lace sleeves, and corset bodice, People reports. Affleck sported a white tuxedo during the event.

The small, intimate wedding is one Lopez says she and Affleck dreamed of long ago. "When love is real, the only thing that matters in marriage is one another and the promise we make to love, care, understand, be patient, loving and good to one another. We had that. And so much more," she writes, adding that it was the best night of the couple's lives. She concluded the post with a new sign off—Mrs. Jennifer Lynn Affleck—hinting that the star changed her legal name following their nuptials.
