Bella Thorne and Cardi B Wear Crystal Beauty Looks at Coachella 2018
When glitter makeup isn’t enough, there are always crystals. Yes, the energy-healing stones are also a three-dimensional way to get your sparkle on — and a major Coachella beauty trend. Celebrities including Bella Thorne, Cardi B, and Riverdale actor Vanessa Morgan were all spotted wearing blinged-out beauty looks for the music festival's first weekend, along with plenty of other festival attendees. Each in their own way, the stars proved that the embellished trend is one festival beauty look that's not going anywhere.
Never one to shy away from a bold beauty statement, Bella went all-out with her look with triangular designs adorning each eye as well as her chest, giving a flash-tattoo effect. Cardi, on the other hand, chose to use wear tiny circular studs, placed in a line below her brows for her Coachella set. The stones matched the actual diamonds in her earrings, the chains around her neck, and even on her fingernails. (Talk about diamonds all over her body.)
Vanessa channeled her Riverdale character, Toni Topaz, with (temporary) streaks of pink hair. She gave the look her own spin with a smattering of crystals placed like rays of the sun, below her right eye and above her left. (Her makeup artist, Ashley Donovan, even crafted a second crystal look for the actor, using teardrop-shaped gems alongside the outer corners of each eye.)
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the trend come out in full-force in recent months. At Prada’s fashion show back in February, models walked the runway with colorfully winged eyes, dotted with tiny crystals above their eyelashes.
While it might be a while before we decide to sport full-on gemstones for daytime, we'll be getting our crystal beauty fix by way of products infused with the stuff, like Pinrose's Shimmer Mist or Pacifica Beauty's new crystal collection, which features serums, primers, foundations, cleansers, and more. With festival season just getting started, it looks like this year's looks are poised to be brighter than ever.
