What Bella Hadid's Met Gala 2020 Beauty Look Would Have Been

In normal times, celebrities would have been getting ready for the Met Gala on the first Monday in May. For fashion and beauty enthusiasts, the Met Gala is like the Super Bowl. Last year, stars flooded the red carpet dressed for the theme, "Camp: Notes on Fashion." But this year, due to the stay-at-home order issued to stop the spread of COVID-19 in New York, things were different.

Instead of getting all gussied up, some celebrities and members of their glam squads spent the night thinking about Met Galas past, and in some cases, shared what they'd planned to do this year if the event had taken place. As we found out, Bella Hadid's look would have been one to remember.

Sam Visser would have been the model's makeup artist that evening, and on May 5, he shared some images from the test-runs he did of the model's look. Of course, the makeup is nothing short of stunning.

Bella's dewy skin is sprinkled with faux freckles. There is a wash of lilac shadow on her eyes and her lips are painted a glossy brown. But the real eye-catcher here is her hair: Bella appears to be a redhead in the shots, which we can only assume is another wig since we've never seen her with this hue.

Sam showed off two series of photos on his Instagram, one where Bella wears the red wig with waves and the other where she wears it stick-straight. In the images with the straightened hair, Sam keeps her skin dewy and freckled but switches up her eye shadow for a smoky, neutral brown paired with a nude gloss. It is unclear if the straight hair was also a trial for the Met Gala because it's not mentioned in the Instagram caption. Either way, red is definitely her color and the people in the comments agree.

Kim Kardashian West commented on the makeup artist's Instagram post with, "WOW BEAUTYYYY." Fans of Bella seem to be loving the look as well, commenting, "Love this look, so pretty!" and "omg literally iconic."

Sam didn't share Bella's outfit for the red carpet, but we're confident the model's Met Gala 2021 beauty look will be just as strong as her 2020 was supposed to be!
