Bella Hadid Steps Out as a Millennial Marilyn Monroe in Paris
Bella Hadid channeled Marilyn Monroe in Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (and Madonna's "Material Girl" ode) at the Naked Heart Foundation gala.
Well, after last night, it appeared that gentlemen prefer brunettes: Bella Hadid stepped out of her hotel yesterday evening in Paris channeling a modern-day Marilyn Monroe. The strapless bubblegum pink Jean Paul Gaultier Fall 2006 couture dress, which Hadid wore to the Naked Heart Foundation’s gala, read like an elevated version of last year’s millennial pink craze.
Sculptural details at the hip were a directional alternative to the traditional peplum, while an elongated train finished the look with a grandiose touch. Hadid amped up the old-Hollywood vibes with AS29’s glittering diamond drop earrings (they are a girl's best friend, after all), while a refined updo let her dress do the talking. Call her the modern-day material girl.
