Bella Hadid Shows How to Glam Up a Simple Beanie—Just in Time for Fall

It’s that time of year when hats are no longer just for show—now they need to keep you warm and cozy. Yet nippy weather is no excuse to skimp on style. Take it from Bella Hadid, who has found a way to elevate the banal beanie with a well-honed dose of beauty.

Last night in New York City, the supermodel stepped out in a sexy cardigan—tactfully unbuttoned to highlight her famous abs—and striped camel trousers. Hadid swept her dark hair behind her ears and wore a black ribbed knit Calvin Klein beanie. The distinct ’90s look was elevated by the use of monochromatic makeup not unlike the kind worn by her sister Gigi last week. Hadid swirled a rich shade of terra cotta on her cheeks and up to the brows for a soft, draped effect. The tawny washes of color warmed up her complexion and further emphasized her sculpted features. To finish the look, she applied mascara on her lashes and a slick of gloss on her deep pink lips.

Having glammed up her throw-on-and-go beanie with aplomb, Hadid raises the question: Is wearing a face-framing cap the perfect excuse to serve up a bold makeup moment?
