It’s official: Bella Hadid’s bald photos prove that if anyone could pull off the shaven head look, it’s her.

The 26-year-old supermodel took on a daring new look straight out of a sci-fi thriller for Marc Jacobs’ Heaven’s fall 2023 campaign. Photographed by Carlijn Jacobs, Bella Hadid’s metamorphosis into a stunning cyborg is nothing short of gorgeous—even without her signature, flowing long locks. Instead, the campaign sees Hadid sporting a completely shaved head and highly angled eyebrows for the ultimate robot chic look.

Now, in case you were wondering if the shaven look is permanent, we can confirm that the photoshoot—including Bella’s bald look—was made possible with the help of artificial intelligence. And according to Vogue, Hadid went back to her long hair by the end of the day.

One of the most iconic images from the campaign captures Hadid in her birthday suit, her bare back to the camera. A gleaming silver tentacle extends from her spine, curving gracefully behind her. The pièce de résistance? Marc Jacobs’ coveted Network ear cuff, a futuristic accessory that perfectly complements her AI-inspired ensemble.

Another striking shot showcases Hadid draped in metallic armor, paired with the iconic Marc Jacobs Kiki boots. These statement boots, adorned with metal accessories, flaunt 6.3-inch heels that command attention. In a nod to the sci-fi genre, a separate image captures Hadid sharing a kiss with a robot, reminiscent of Ava in Alex Garland’s 2015 thriller Ex Machina.

This isn’t Bella Hadid’s first time undergoing a dramatic transformation for Marc Jacobs. Last year, she and her sister Gigi graced the designer’s runway with bleached brows and jet-black wigs, creating a visually striking illusion of half-shaved heads.

Bella Hadid’s photoshoot with Marc Jacobs comes after she recently returned to modeling following a months-long leave from the fashion industry due to her struggles with Lyme disease. She opened up about her 15-year struggle with the disease in August 2023, taking to Instagram to share a carousel of photos of herself at various doctor’s appointments with an IV in her arm.

“The little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself,” the model wrote on Instagram. “Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can’t really explain.”

“To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever. One thing I want to express to you all is that one: I am OK and you do not have to worry, and two: I wouldn’t change anything for the world,” Hadid continued. “The universe works in the most painful and beautiful ways but I need to say that if you are struggling—it will get better. I promise. Take a step away, stay strong, have faith in your path, walk in your truth and the clouds will start to clear up. I have so much gratitude for and perspective on life.”

She added, “Almost 15 years of invisible suffering was all worth it if I’m able to, God willing, have a lifetime of spreading love from a full cup and being able to truly be myself, for the first time ever.”
