Bella Hadid Goes Back to Dirty Blonde With a Transformative Dye Job

The model paired her new look with bare-faced freckles.

The Hadid sisters have always maintained their respective beauty signatures: Gigi is the sandy blonde with an easygoing Californian spirit, and Bella, Vogue’s current digital cover star, is the brunette vixen with the cool streetwear style. But today, Bella switched things up and returned to her SoCal roots with a transformative dye job: she went dirty blonde, nodding to her original coloring and that easy, care-free style that her sibling has been sporting for years.

Captioning her Instagram post, “Back to dirty blonde, back to my roots,” Hadid embraced lightening up her tresses for spring. Her once-darkened locks were dyed a sun-kissed, brown-blonde shade, accentuating her blue eyes. And it appears she got some coaxing to take the plunge: Bella credited Mert Alas, one half of the photographer duo Mert and Marcus, for suggesting the change. To go with her new au natural look, the model went completely bare-faced, allowing her freckles to shine through.

The new hair color certainly marks a new era for Bella, though this isn’t the first time she’s pulled off an extreme hair transformation. From blunt bobs to even blunter bangs, Hadid has proven she’s the ultimate hair chameleon over the years, but this latest move is one of her most dramatic reveals yet.
