Bella Hadid Dyed Her Hair Brown Before the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Bella Hadid continues to prove that some of the best beauty and fashion inspiration can come from putting your spin on classic trends. The model's personal style has made frequent references to the '90s this year, and she's sported everything from a claw clip to a mini black bag. There's no denying that Bella enjoys a good TBT moment, especially when it comes to her latest hair color.

Just days before walking the runway at this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, Bella debuted deep, chocolate brown hair. Naturally, she again turned to the decades of Dunkaroos and Space Jam for inspo. Colorist Jenna Perry at New York's White Rose Collective told Refinery 29 that Bella's choice of color was inspired by previous members of the Victoria's Secret squad.

"I was inspired by a lot of the Victoria's Secret catalogs from the '90s," Jenna said. "Their hair color was just so rich and mysterious. They owned their brunette in a crowd of blondes — I just wanted to take [Hadid] to that same place. A little darker, deeper, and less basic."

To get the new shade, Jenna told Refinery 29 that she used Wella's demi-permanent dye. "It's a stain, so it will wash out eventually,"she said. "But she wouldn't have to come back into the salon for at least three months."

The new shade is a definite departure from Bella's previous color. And as Jenna revealed, the model had asked for an update to an existing color that had slowly started to disappear over the summer. She also said that Bella rarely colors her hair.

There's no telling how long this shade of chocolate brown will last on Bella, but if you're looking to sport a similar hue, a demi-permanent dye might be the perfect option. As experts previously explained to Teen Vogue, the dying option is very hair-friendly and won't cause any harsh damage. That being said, demi hair color does fade, so you'll have to do your part to maintain the color.
