Bella Hadid Calls Out Donald Trump’s Immigration Policies

She’s using her platform for good.

Supermodel Bella Hadid graced the cover of Harper's Bazaar Arabia this month and she's using her platform for an important reason: to open up about her thoughts on Donald Trump's immigration policies.

The photo shoot originally took place in June, the day that Trump's travel ban went into effect. In the interview, Bella talked about her father's, Mohamed Hadid's, road to naturalization.

“My dad was a refugee,” Bella told the magazine. "He came from Palestine to America when he was a baby ... Thankfully, he was able to come, but it was very hard and now it’s probably 100 times harder. It makes me sad that power is getting taken from a lot of people and they’re not able to make a new life for their children and their families. It’s crazy to me that one person can tell you whether or not you can have a better life."

This isn't the first time that Bella had taken a stance against the Trump administration's initiatives. Back in January, she and sister Gigi joined marched with thousands of other protestors against the travel ban that targeted Muslim populations. They held up a sign that read, "We are all Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims, Atheists, Christians, Jews."

Other celebrities have also spoken up against Trump's effect on immigrant communities. Earlier this month, both Selena Gomez and Lauren Jauregui spoke out against his announcement to reverse DACA.

Bella added, "If I can’t talk about something that I’m passionate about, why even be here? Why even do any of the stuff that I’m doing if I can’t make a better purpose for the world, or make a difference, or try to put light on a situation that is obviously so dark? It’s all really scary."
