Having kept herself largely out of sight (though never out of mind) for the past few months due to ongoing health issues, Bella Hadid finally made her glorious re-emergence on the streets of NYC over the weekend in a cosy grey knitted twin set. We'll admit we were besides ourselves at the sighting, and even more so that she'd donned such a fab cosy-chic ensemble for the occasion. It just hasn't been the same without her regular, epic street style 'fits, tbh!
Well, it must be an early Christmas miracle, because Bella has only gone and graced us with yet another fab look just one day later – and this one is all the better for including a *major* Y2K fashion throwback. Yup, when we saw this pic we genuinely thought we'd time travelled back in time to the year 2001 for a sec...
Is that an actual Von Dutch bowling bag that Bella's carrying, you ask? Yes, yes it is – and we're absolutely obsessed. Not just because we can actually say for once that we used to own the same bag as a genuine supermodel, but also because we've been low-key waiting for this iconic brand to make its return ever since the Y2K revival started taking over the fashion world a good year ago.
We just didn't really expect Bella to be the one to spearhead its comeback, but there ya go! She's a gal who's full of surprises. We absolutely adore the way she's styled the bag too, pairing it with a sexy activewear two-piece that we would totally have worn back in the 2000s too.
Bella's low-slung yoga pants and cropped zip-down hoodie show off her toned tummy and a lil bit of cheeky cleavage, while the model also wore a hi-vis red and black coat on top that co-ordinated with her nostalgic bag. Box-fresh white Salomon trainers, geek-chic glasses and a black headband completed the look, and gave it a modern edge. All that's missing is the brand's signature camo bedazzled cap (remember those!?).
Don't know about you, but I'm furiously raiding my childhood wardrobe for anything similar as we speak... And for those who didn't get the memo the first time around: there are tonnes of vintage Von Dutch bags just like Bella's on eBay and Depop just waiting to be snapped up – as well as a cute baby blue style that's currently in the ASOS sale. Run, don't walk.
