Bella and Gigi Hadid Have "Grown Closer" Since Zayn Malik Altercation

Gigi and Bella Hadid have gotten closer in the past few months.

The supermodel sisters' bond has reportedly grown following the altercation between their mom Yolanda Hadid and Gigi's ex-boyfriend Zayn Malik last September.

A source close to the Hadid family told People, "Gigi and Bella have grown closer since the Zayn and Yolanda incident. Bella has stuck by her side, as the situation has caused a lot of tension within the family."

Malik was charged with four counts of harassment after an alleged physical incident in which he "caused [Yolanda] mental anguish and physical pain," per court documents. News broke in October that Gigi and Malik had broken up after the altercation.

"Gigi is done with Zayn. She's a really private person, so Bella has really been there to support her," the source continued. "It's been tough on all of them because they're all so close. That's her mom, but it's still her baby's father, even though their romantic relationship is over."

"This has not been easy on Gigi and has caused a lot of stress on relationships with her family," they added.

The singer pleaded no contest to the harassment counts in October, though he has denied any physical contact with Yolanda Hadid. He was required to serve 90 days of probation for each count, and complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program.

Gigi's rep told People in October that the model was focusing on what was best for her and Malik's one-year-old daughter Khai.

"Gigi is solely focused on the best for Khai. She asks for privacy during this time," read the statement.
