Belgian Grand Prix live stream: preview

Back-to-back podiums for Lando Norris and consecutive top-five finishes for Oscar Piastri mean the battle to be the best of the rest is heating up. Mercedes, Aston Martin and Ferrari are still comfortably clear of McLaren in the standings, but the team in papaya is operating on a whole different level and could make up serious ground at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps.

The Belgian Grand Prix is the final race before F1's month-long summer break, and after the whole business with Nyck de Vries and Daniel Ricciardo, one or two drivers may be feeling a little uncomfortable under their racing suits.

Ricciardo's return lit a fire under Sergio Perez's seat last weekend, with the Mexican promptly joining Max Verstappen on the podium for just the second time in six races. The Aussie was instantly at ease in the AlphaTauri, however, and if Checo's form reverts to the mean at Spa another reshuffle may well be in the offing.

The inverse may be closer to the truth in the case of Fernando Alonso, who's now only six points clear of Lewis Hamilton in the standings. At the start of the season the prospect of the Spaniard going into break with a similar points haul to the Brit was laughable, but Mercedes' upgrades have completely wiped out the Aston Martin's pace advantage and a rethink is urgently needed.
