Go Behind the Scenes at Paris Fashion Week with Dior Beauty

By now, we're sure you’ve seen Dior's latest collection at Paris Fashion Week. The show was another entry into Dior’s recent series dubbed as socially-conscious runway presentations, with models walking under illuminated signs reading “CONSENT” and “WOMEN RAISE THE UPRISING” designed with the help of artist Claire Fontaine.

While we process everything that went down at the show, Dior has something special saved for Teen Vogue readers — an exclusive look behind-the-scenes at their show, from a beauty-focused angle. Dior’s beauty offerings have always been an important part of any Dior presentation. However, coordinating and executing both elegant Dior style and refined beauty looks is an incredible and daunting task. Pulling off a show like this takes months of labor, culminating in a final runway walk that lasts just under fifteen minutes.

Legendary makeup artist Peter Philips, who also happens to be the creative and image director for Dior makeup, was in charge of all things beauty for the show. Strong black eyeliner played a major role in the beauty of the show, with Philips explaining that he “emphasized the eye taking each girl’s personality, style and look, as well as her eye shape, into consideration.” The aim with such strong eye looks, he said, was “to provide intensity, while playing with audacity with three different styles of black eyeliner and kohl.”

To achieve these looks, the products he used were Diorshow On Stage Liner in Matte Black or Diorshow Khôl in Black, alongside the Diorshow Iconic Overcurl mascara in Over Black as well as the Brow Styler and Diorshow Pump ’n’ Brow.

For skin, Philips used the Dior Backstage Face & Body primer and its foundation counterpart together with a touch of Dior Forever Skin Correct if needed. The Dior Backstage Glow Face palette was also used for finishing, dewy touches. On the lips, the MUA kept things simple using only Dior lip sugar scrub and blotted Dior Lip Maximizer in the pink shade.
