Behind-the-Scene Footage of Shakira's VMA Performance Goes Viral

Shakira is one of the best at creating epic musical moments, and her recent performance at the 2023 Video Music Awards (VMAs) was no exception.

Fans of the singer may know that Shakira received the Video Vanguard Award at the ceremony. As part of her acceptance, she sang a medley of her most famous hits. Of course, fans went absolutely wild for her performance, but it's the behind-the-scenes video that's been shared on TikTok that has gone viral.

From showing off sketches of the outfit she eventually wore onstage to rehearsing the choreography for the show, Shakira showed her fanbase exactly what it takes to make the magic happen. "One thing about us is we love watching an icon like @Shakira work on her craft! 👏," read the official caption on MTV's page.

And fans loved watching it too! "She’s just unreal — I remember her breaking out on the scene," one person wrote. "Love our hardworking queen," another declared. "IT WAS SUPER BOWL 2020 AGAIN," a different follower exclaimed, referencing her halftime show performance alongside Jennifer Lopez.

While people can't help but be enamored by her, Shakira is equally grateful for the support they give her. As she made MTV history for being the first South American artist to receive the Video Vanguard Award, she made sure to mention in her speech just how important having her fans by her side has meant throughout her career.

"I want to share this award with my fans," she said after thanking her family, friends and fellow collaborators. "Thank you so much for being my army and helping me fight all my battles."
