Bees Multiplying Due to Heavy Rains Are Becoming a Threat to People

If you've been keeping up with the news over the last few weeks, you've most likely heard about incidents involving bees. Dogs and humans both have been stung in attacks in several states. In Arizona, a woman and her dog were exercising outside when they were swarmed by hundreds of bees. Another swarm in Los Angeles attacked a man who was trying to clean a hive himself.

TikTok user @markbeshae recently reported on another incident of a man walking his dog. The police came to assist and the bees attacked swarmed the officer as well. Listen to the video to hear why this increase of bee attacks might be happening.

Wow, this is so scary. We freak out when even one bee is around us so we can't even imagine how frightening it would be with dozens, if not hundreds, swirling around our heads. This man who was attacked in the video was found with over 250 stings. UGH. That's absolutely horrible.

And don't even get us started on the poor dog getting stung too. What is one to do if your dog is stung by a bee? The first step is knowing how to recognize if your dog is having an allergic reaction. Symptoms may include excessive drooling, swollen eyes, and swelling of the face, muzzle, and other body parts. More severe symptoms might include vomiting, diarrhea, noisy breathing, hives, and collapse.

ABC News reported that the attacks are seasonal and according to experts, the weather is playing a major role in the increase of bees. All the rainfall this year has led to blooming flowers, feeding the bee population, which in turn has skyrocketed. If you ever find yourself swarmed by bees, run away as far and as fast as you can. Never stay still, play dead, or jump into water. This season of bees should lessen by the end of the summer.
