Bed and breakfast with large suites opening in Saugatuck

SAUGATUCK, Mich. (WOOD) — A new bed and breakfast is opening in downtown Saugatuck, just in time for Memorial Day weekend.

Porches on Mason is set to open on May 21 at 350 Mason St. near Griffith Street, located just a few blocks away from the Kalamazoo River, the Saugatuck-Douglas Area Convention and Visitors Bureau said in a Wednesday release.

The bed and breakfast has eight rental suites, which include a king-size bedroom, a kitchenette, a dining space and a seating room. Some of the suites also have a screened-in porch with a porch swing and outdoor seating.

Porches on Mason will offer a ‘French breakfast’ with croissants, muffins, fruit and cheese.

“We are excited to announce the opening of our new bed & breakfast – Porches on Mason, after recently completing construction of our beautiful building,” Mark Lodenstein, co-owner of Porches on Mason, said in the release.

He said it’s a unique bed and breakfast as it offers large private suites with only minimal shared space.

“(It’s) a hybrid lodging option that feels a bit more like your own luxury apartment to enjoy your vacation,” he said.
