Here’s How To Use Bed Bath & Beyond Coupons at Other Retailers Now That They’re Closing

Bed Bath & Beyond has been a staple in home goods and lifestyle products for decades. With its massive blue facade and expansive storefront presence, Bed Bath & Beyond was a go-to for anything you needed for your home or for your wedding registry. But now Bed Bath & Beyond is closing all its brick-and-mortar stores after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

While Bed Bath & Beyond’s demise might have been predictable, their announcement doesn’t give customers a ton of time to redeem the last of their big, blue Bed Bath & Beyond coupons. In fact, they’re already expired if you tried to use them in stores. But hope isn’t lost; here’s how you can still redeem those coupons at other retailers.

Bed Bath & Beyond is going out of business

As stated above, Bed Bath & Beyond announced on April 23 that they were filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to Today. These closures include 360 stores in the United States and 120 stores of its spinoff business, buybuy Baby.

Their website has a statement to their customers. “Thank you to all of our loyal customers. We have made the difficult decision to begin winding down our operations,” it reads. “Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY stores remain open to serve you."

This “orderly wind-down of its business” means that the stores will fully phase out and close by the end of June, per CBS News.

Can you use your Bed Bath & Beyond coupons in the store?

As for those big, blue 20 percent off Bed Bath & Beyond coupons we all get in the mail from time to time (or often, depending), you can no longer use them at Bed Bath & Beyond stores directly. According to Bed Bath & Beyond’s site, customers can use merchandise credits, gift cards and Welcome Rewards until May 8. However, customers can no longer gain reward points for purchases made now until the stores close.

Bed Bath & Beyond stopped accepting their coupons as of April 26. This is most likely because right now through May 24 the store is hosting a big liquidation sale, according to Today. While you can try and use the coupons online, it doesn’t seem like the Bed Bath & Beyond online coupons will be valid either.

What stores can you use your Bed Bath & Beyond coupons in now?

But all hope is not lost, yet. If you still have a pile of these coupons in your home, Big Lots and The Container Store will accept them under certain conditions.

According to The New York Times, The Container Store is allowing 20 percent off a single item through May 31. In addition to it counting on online one item, the coupons can’t be used for store-pickup orders or specific different brands. You also can’t combine it with other coupons or sales going on at The Container Store.

As for Big Lots, they will accept Bed Bath & Beyond coupons as well. However, instead of denying expired Bed Bath & Beyond coupons like The Container Store will, Big Lots will accept all of your big, blue coupons (a practice that Bed Bath & Beyond was also known for doing). But you only have until May 7 to take advantage of Big Lots’s offer. Customers can use their 20 percent off coupon for their “entire purchase of $50 or more.”

Where to find Bed Bath & Beyond coupons

Unfortunately, if you don’t currently have Bed Bath & Beyond coupons lying around, you can’t sign up to get them, considering the store is already not honoring them anymore. But, again, if you or someone you know has any leftover coupons, you can bring them to The Container Store and Big Lots to get some deals.

Can you use Bed Bath & Beyond coupons online?

While you can try and use the coupons online, it doesn’t seem like the Bed Bath & Beyond online coupons will be valid either. However, there is still an option on the website to add in the coupon’s code, so it might be a hit or miss, depending.

The New York Times reported that customers can return “eligible purchases” through May 24, but a ton of items on their website are marked as final sale. So those “eligible purchases” are most likely anything you bought before the current liquidation sale.
