After four years of low-key dating, Bachelor alum Becca Tilley and Hayley Kiyoko confirmed their relationship. Not only did the pair reveal their romance, but they did it with a major nod to Becca’s reality TV ties in Hayley’s Bach-themed “For the Girls” music video, which starred Hayley as the first lesbian Bachelorette.

Given the very Bach-tinged video, you might assume that Becca and Hayley were confident they would have the fans of Bachelor Nation rooting for their love (which turned out to 100 percent be the case, btw), but Becca was actually pretty anxious about the fandom’s reaction, apparently.

“I think I had a certain image that people had of me, and I think there was a lot of fear and hesitancy specifically around the Bachelor fan base,” Becca explained on Amazon Live with Hayley earlier this week.

Thankfully, Bachelor fans pleasantly surprised Becca by throwing full support and love behind her and Hayley’s relationship.

“I honestly wish I had given them more credit because everyone has been so kind and supportive and loving,” she added. “It made me realize that people were just rooting for me to find love; they didn’t care who it was with as long as I found happiness. I felt like I have found so much support.”

FWIW, though, Becca has already made it abundantly clear in the past that Hayley had been reassuring her that her fans from Bachelor Nation were going to be happy she found love no matter who it was with or what their gender identity happened to be since well before the announcement.

“Hayley has really made me feel brave, and she was always like, ‘People love you and they want to see you happy.’ And I’m just so thankful for [our fans],” Becca explained during the May 23 episode of her podcast.

Clearly, Hayley was right. We couldn’t be happier for these two. Now if you’ll excuse us, we’ll be watching the “For the Girls” vid for a while in celebration of their ~love~.
