Thanks to the coronavirus outbreak, we have a new accessory to wear while in public: the face mask. But I still would like to look cute! While I’ve pretty much said bye-bye to lipstick, there’s still room on the top half of my face to have fun with eye makeup.

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Vincent Oquendo, a global makeup artist known for his bold aesthetic and creative vision. He has painted the faces of A-list celebrities, including Lily Collins, Janelle Monáe, Bella Hadid, Karlie Kloss and Hailey Bieber.

In this episode of Accidental Beauty Blogger, Vincent shares his favorite products to make your eyes stand out while wearing a face mask.

Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops

I think we tend to forget about the inside of our eyes, and it’s very important for us to take care of them. These eye drops are one of Vincent’s makeup kit must-haves and he uses the product on most of his clients because it “really brightens and whitens.”

Shiseido Synchro Skin Self-Refreshing Concealer

I am obsessed with this concealer and have been using it ever since Vincent brought it to my attention. This liquid concealer gives you medium to full coverage with a beautiful finish.

Vincent likes to work with two different concealer shades. He explains, “The reason why I love two is because one you're going to use around your under-eye area to brighten, and then the other you're going to sort of use to sculpt and highlight.”

Pro tip from Vincent: Apply the lighter concealer as a highlight underneath brows and in the inner corners of your eye. Then place the deeper concealer on outer eye corners for a snatched look.

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara

Want to add length and volume to your lashes without clumping them up? You’ll want to try this! Both Vincent and I are into full lashes and aren’t shy about applying extra coats of mascara.

Vincent’s mascara application technique is all about the “wiggle.” Starting at the base of your lashes, hold the wand and then do “small wiggles up to the perimeter of your eyes,” says the pro.

Maybelline Color Strike Cream-to-Powder Eye Shadow Pen

This product will complete your snatched eye makeup look! It’s all super easy to use — practically fool-proof. Vincent strongly recommends holding your chin up to apply and do short strokes with the shadow pen. “This is my secret weapon to getting that winged eyeliner super perfect,” he says.

The Ultimate Must-Have

Vincent's ultimate must-have is the Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops. "It's the base. It's the first thing before any eye makeup," he explains. And I totally agree!
