Ames’ popular vintage and handmade pop-up, Beautiful Land Market, will kick off its season Sunday, May 5 at the downtown Fareway parking lot, 619 Burnett Ave.

With free admission, the market will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature more than 40 vendors, live music and food trucks.

Free market tote bags will be given to the first 100 visitors at each pop-up, courtesy of The Ames Foundation, Wilson Toyota and The Iowan Magazine.

“Our pop-ups and markets allow people to gather in the spirit of community to support local and shop small,” co-director Jody Bergan Bennett said. “This is a place where emerging, undiscovered and experienced artists, crafters, designers, vintage collectors and food artisans can showcase their talents and meet their customers.”

There will also be a selfie station, “a fun little backdrop we’re making for an added interactive experience,” she said.
