Beautiful Elk Enchants Tourists While Walking Down Street in Colorado

Estes Park is one of the most beautiful places in America. It's also populated with many elk herds which is why it isn't surprising one young elk made her way into town and just casually walked down the street.

Everyone is so in awe of this beautiful elk and how everyone seemed so respectful of her and her space. @Nicole comments, "I love everyone started whispering and stood still and just took in the scene. Beautiful." @NiNi noticed this too and added, "How beautiful! I love how everyone respected its space." @JK responded, "I was there visiting my daughter five weeks ago and saw a doe eating and just walking around most people didn't notice her." @Lisa replied, "I am very glad everyone let her be." @Kawhi said, "She just needed a quick bite in town before heading home. So majestic!"

The Colorado Government website wants to remind people that "Elk viewing is best from a safe distance. Each September and October, thousands of visitors are drawn to Estes Park to watch herds of elk gather in the valley for their mating season, or‚ rut. With this popular activity comes the responsibility for everyone to be safe and respect these majestic animals. During the rut, the male‚ or bull, elk are irritable, aggressive and extremely dangerous to onlookers who get too close."

They also remind people to keep their dogs leashed and that "The Estes Park Police Department does enforce wildlife laws including laws against feeding or harassing wildlife, or allowing one's pet to harass wildlife."

These are such beautiful, majestic creatures and it's up to us humans to protect them, their environments and to give them their space, all while admiring them for a safe distance.
