Beauty collaborations are a dime a dozen these days, so it takes something momentous to get Bazaar staffers buzzing. We did just that about the matching earbud cases and chrome nail polishes from the new Olive & June x Beats collaboration, available today. It’s the audio brand’s first foray into the beauty world, making it a must-have for nail polish enthusiasts and music fans alike.
“Music and manis are both transformative for your mood,” Olive & June founder and CEO Sarah Gibson Tuttle told Bazaar in an exclusive. “We have been talking to Beats for years about matching our manis to their headphones. We’re both obsessed with colors, performance, and the overall user experience, so we knew we’d create something truly special together.”
That something special is a range of metallic nail polishes and press-on nails that are an exact match for two new Beats Studio Buds + colorways. “To me, Cosmic Pink is an all-night dance party with Taylor Swift, Dolly Parton, and of course a touch of Barbie. Cosmic Silver has a powerful, get-stuff-done vibe like Rihanna and Becky G, and you can’t not think of Beyonce’s Renaissance when you see it,” Gibson Tuttle said.
In addition to two metallic nail polishes, the collaboration includes five new press-on nail styles that echo the styles of the new Studio Buds +. “The inspiration here was the tech itself,” Gibson Tuttle said. “We didn’t want it to be too literal with explicit musical notes, but rather a visual interpretation of that experience. So in this collection, you’ll see abstract swirls and shapes that are reminiscent of sound waves and musical notes.”
Like every Olive & June product, the polishes and press-ons are “15-free,” meaning they’re free of 15 harmful common nail polish ingredients, including formaldehyde, acetone, sulfates, and parabens. Additionally, they’re cruelty-free and vegan. And instead of using virgin plastic, Olive & June press-ons are made using 94 percent post-consumer recycled materials.
With noise cancellation, spatial audio, and a 36-hour battery life, Beats Studio Buds + headphones do far more than just match your mani. The wireless earbuds provide a high-quality, immersive listening experience, whether you’re blasting Olivia Rodrigo, bingeing your favorite podcast, or answering work calls. Plus, they offer cutting-edge Android and Apple compatibility that makes it easy to change a song, call a friend, or locate them when they’re lost.
Shoppers looking to secure the new collection can get the nail polishes and press-ons directly at Olive & June (retailing for $9 and $10, respectively) and a pair of Studio Buds + at Apple for $170. Both brands are known for innovative product design and sleek aesthetics, making for a marriage between tech and beauty that’s not to be missed this fall.
