Bear Taking Relaxing Mud Bath Is the Perfect Level of Unbothered

Whether you prefer a luxurious spa experience or a DIY facial with sheet masks and a bubble bath, everyone can indulge in a little self-care every now and again. As it turns out, the same goes for wild animals, too! Colorado Parks and Wildlife recently shared a heartwarming video of a massive bear taking a relaxing mud bath, and it instantly put a smile on my face.

The big bear decided to unwind for a while in Roxborough State Park, where the video was filmed, but viewers from around the globe are loving the animal's unbothered attitude.

Doesn't that look like so much fun? I'd happily go for a dip in the mud myself, but it seems like the space is regularly frequented by visitors like this one. I'll just have to find a mud bath at a spa instead!

Since the animal is so caked in mud, it's a bit tricky to tell whether we're looking at a black bear or a brown bear. Luckily, a little research can go a long way! It turns out that black bears are the only bears found in the state of Colorado. Still, this is a truly massive black bear!

One commenter guessed that the bear is "getting cleaned after a long winter nap." That could be! Lots of animals enjoy rolling in the mud for a variety of reasons, just like another commenter's horse.

She shared, "My horse rolls in mud and that keeps the bugs off him during the summer. Although he’s not rolling in mud, do bears or other wild animals do the same to protect themselves from insects?" That could be! Whatever the reason behind the mud bath, though, we know one thing for sure. It was entertaining AF!
