Battle Cry! Bringing women together

May 2—It has often been said that there is strength in numbers.

That point will come to fruition on May 18 as New Life Worship Center hosts "Battle Cry!," a service to bring women together to pray, worship and strengthen their faith.

The role of women in the church varies from religion to religion, but their capability to serve God has no realms.

"Battle Cry! is a vision to bring women encouragement to our victory," said Shawna Baker, who is coordinating the event. "This is to show women who believe in the Bible and its teachings how powerful they are."

That power lies in faith, in prayer, and in action as witnesses of God's love — all of which will be exemplified through this service.

Justina Salyers will lead the worship while Jessica Mullins will deliver the message for the service.

"There is no registration or fee to participate," Baker added. "We just encourage women from all faiths to join together."

"Battle Cry!" will begin at 2 p.m. at New Life Worship Center, just off West 5th Street on Sue Bennett Properties.
