From the Batsuit to 007’s Tux: A Treasure Trove of Film and TV Memorabilia Could Fetch $14 Million at Auction
One of the world’s largest memorabilia auctions will have you making an offer they can’t refuse.
Propstore’s Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in London is putting over 1,800 rare items from some of the most iconic movies and T.V. shows on the block. If you’re a film buff, you’re in for a real treat: Pieces such as the overcoat worn by Marlon Brando in 1972’s The Godfather, Jack Dawson’s Titanic outfit, and Forrest Gump’s Nike sneakers will be up for grabs, with online auctions starting October 10. The treasure trove is estimated to rake in a whopping $13.8 million.

A screen-matched C-3PO head from Star Wars: Episode IV — A New Hope leads the auction with a sales estimate of between $575,000 and $1.1 million. The pristine golden collectible even lights up just like the film’s chatty robot. If spooky movies are more your speed, Freddy Krueger’s freaky metal glove from Wes Craven’s A Nightmare on Elm Street will also be on the block, predicted to hammer down for between $230,000 and $460,000.
Rounding out the leading trio is a piece worn by Harrison Ford himself. Seen in Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark, Indy’s famous tan shirt could fetch between $172,500 and $345,000 at auction. The archaeologist’s bullwhip from 1984’s Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom is also up for grabs, if you’re looking to snag two coveted items from the franchise (and for a fun Halloween costume this year). Other lots in the sale include a black tuxedo worn by Daniel Craig’s James Bond in No Time to Die (est. $23,000 to $46,000), Michael Keaton’s battle-damaged batsuit from 1989’s Batman (est. $28,750 to $57,500), and Chris Evans’s patriotic shield from Captain America: The First Avenger (est. 57,500 to $115,000).
“Propstore’s Los Angeles Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction in June was a massive success and now we’re thrilled to kick off our U.K. sale, set to be bigger and better than ever,” Stephen Lane, founder and CEO of Propstore, says in a statement. “We have some extraordinary content on offer, including the incredible Anthony Daniels collection. It really is a huge privilege to be offering such a remarkable collection from a true Star Wars legend.” Daniels himself chimed in on the sale, stating, “I hope this can bring pleasure to Star Wars fans and collectors all around the world and give them a chance to own a piece of the real thing.”
Luckily, you don’t have to wait long to get a piece of movie history. You can register now for the Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction via the Propstore website. Online bidding opens October 10, followed by in-house bidding open to the public at BAFTA 195 Piccadilly in London on November 9 and 10, with bids also being accepted over the phone. And you’ll have a chance to see some of the items up-close: Over 250 of the lots will be exhibited at the auction house’s Hertfordshire and California offices through October 10 to November 3.
