May 23—There's a lot of special programming and activities scheduled for the month of June at the Batesville Memorial Public Library.

June 3 to July 20: BMPL's Summer Reading Program "Adventure Begins at your Library!" Visit www.https://ebatesville.com/srp and sign up. Log minutes/books to complete reading levels in the Beanstack App; claim and enter to win prizes. This is for all ages and open to community members. Join us this summer!

June 3 at 10 a.m. — Mother Goose Toddler Time for ages 0-3. Miss Sarah will host a 30 minute session designed to stimulate the learning process of babies and toddlers. Registration is not required.

June 3 at 11 a.m. — Summer Stories at the Park. Join Miss Sarah at Liberty Park on the grass by the playground to spend 30 minutes reading, singing, and dancing together! Registration is not required.

June 4 at 11 a.m. or 1 p.m. — Foam party. Join us at Liberty Park to kick off summer reading with a foam party! We recommend bringing a swimsuit or light clothing, water shoes or back strap sandals, and a towel to dry off after 45 minutes of music and fun in the foam! This program is geared towards children ages 8 and under. Registration is required.

June 4 at 1 p.m. — Craft & Chat. Do you have a project that you need a little motivation to finish? Do you get lonely working on your projects at home? Just want a little company? Join your fellow crafters at the library for an afternoon of crafting and chatting. Bring your craft project(s) from home and join us for a crafty social hour! Registration is not required.

June 4 at 4 p.m. — Story Seekers Book Club — Participants will read the book for that month and discuss it the following month. There will be a craft or activity to go along with the book. We will be discussing Tuck Everlasting and begin reading The Bark of the Bog Owl by Jonathan Rogers. This book club is for grades 3 to 8 and meets the first Tuesday of the month. June 6 at 1 p.m. — Afternoon Felting — To go along with the summer reading theme of Adventure we are taking an adventure into a new style of felting. This month, we will try our hand at wet felting and create a basket. Registration is required.

June 6 from 2:30 to 6 p.m. — BMPL blood drive in the library meeting rooms. Thursday, June 6 — 2:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Batesville Memorial Public Library is always seeking ways to give back to its community. Help us give back by signing up to donate. June 6 at 6:30 p.m. — Native Plants vs. Invasive Plants presentation. Join us as we take a virtual mini tour of native Indiana habitats, review a few invasive plants, learn why they are invasive and how to manage them, and then complete our time together with a look at some native plants we can use to create living landscapes to boldly celebrate our beautiful state. Registration is not required.

June 10 at 4 p.m. — Little Sprouts Garden Club — Welcome to Little Sprouts Garden Club. This program is for ages 3 to 6 years old. This club will meet once a month and talk about all things garden with your little ones. Join us each month as we go from starting seeds to picking our produce in our BMPL garden. This is a hands-on program for littles with crafts in between. Registration is required.

June 10 at 6:30 p.m. — Art Adventure Walk — Let's go on an art adventure. Have you ever wondered about the history and background of many public art on display in downtown Batesville? Join us as we go on the Batesville Area Arts Council's Art Walk! This activity requires walking. We will meet at the library before walking around the downtown area and returning to the library. June 11 at 10:30 a.m. — Family Movie. Join us at the library for a free movie! We will provide popcorn. You may bring blankets and pillows to sit on the floor or we will have a few rows of chairs set up in the back. We will be watching A Bug's Life. Registration is required.

June 11 at 1 p.m. — Flower Painting — Participants will look closely at some flowers and try to hand paint an enlarged flower of their own, inspired by Georgia O'Keefe. We will be using acrylic paint; dress accordingly. This is for 1st — 6th grade. Registration is required.

June 13 at 10 a.m. — Brum Woods Nature Walk — Join us at Lena's Loop for a fun nature walk! We will meet on the paved path by the parking lot and will be staying on the paved path. In case of rain, this program will be cancelled. This program is intended for children ages 4 to 8. Registration is required.

June 13 at 5 p.m. — Nanny the Dog — Eli's dog club presents: Become a dog for a day! Photos will be taken and bingo will be played! Registration is not required.

June 15 at 6 p.m. — BMPL Summer Concert Series — Emily Ann Thompson's rich sound, energetic style and passionate playing has made her an audience favorite. Free to the public. Bring your lawn chairs for a good time! This is held around the pergola in front of the library. Registration is not required.

June 18 at 1:30 p.m. — A Novel Idea Book Club (Adult) — A Novel Idea is BMPL's book club. Join us each month to explore and discuss the month's book. Retired English teacher Steve Holland is our book guide. A Novel Idea Book Club meets in the library on the third Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. Newcomers are always welcome to this lively book group! The June book is Born a Crime by Trevor Noah. Find a copy of the book near the front desk. Registration is not required.

June 18 at 6:30 p.m. — Aging Care Series: Long Distance Caregiving — If you live an hour or more away from someone who needs care, you are considered a long-distance caregiver. This distance can bring about challenges in managing the care needs of your loved one or supporting the efforts of the local primary caregiver. If you are the nearby caregiver, you may have relatives or friends who ask what can I do to help, and you are unsure what to suggest. Join us as we discuss both of these issues to help you in your caregiving role. Registration is not required.

June 20 at 10 a.m. — Thursday Craft Day: Water Bottle Sun Catchers — Join us to reuse water bottles to create suncatchers to hang outside! This program is for children ages 4 to 8. Registration is required.

June 20 at 6 p.m. — Indiana Hidden Gems presentation — Kick off your adventure this summer with travels close to home. Indiana Landmarks uses insider knowledge to highlight historic places worth a visit, from the quirky to the sublime: small towns, neighborhoods, restaurants, shops, parks, cemeteries, scenic drives, museums — you get the idea. Join Suzanne Stanis for a look at Indiana's favorite hidden gems, from the shell-covered St. Anne Chapel at St. Mary-of-the-Woods in Terre Haute to Evansville's 9 1/2 foot tall Vulcan statue. Registration is not required.

June 26 at 2 p.m. — Remember When...Storytime (Adult) — Join us for an afternoon of real-life narratives, where we share heartfelt and captivating experiences. Join us to connect, share, and embrace the beauty of real-life tales! No registration. Free and open to the public.

June 26 at 5 p.m. — BMPL board meeting — Open to the public.
