Basset Hound's Fear Over Grandma Watering the Garden Couldn't Be More Precious

Every dog has their quirks, and @bassetronald is no exception. This floppy Basset Hound is known for his slow-mo running videos on TikTok, but now he's making viewers smile with his priceless reaction when his grandma starts watering the garden.

As his mum reveals in the video's description, this sweet boy fears water. Still, we're not the only ones who let out a little laugh as we watched this hound dog's adorable reaction!

Aww, poor Ronald! He's really frightened of the watering hose, but he's got a friend--or maybe his dad--right next to him for comfort. Luckily, his lap was available for the sweet dog, too. With just a little comfort and reassurance, this Basset will feel like himself again!

Oddly enough, several commenters shared similar stories about Basset Hounds who fear water. Now we're curious whether this is a breed thing!

@Anniep2603 wrote, "We have 3 basset babies and all they have to hear is the squeak of the hose knob and they are OUT!" That's too funny! Though there's no way to prove whether fear of water is common in this stubby-legged breed, we do know that the Basset Hound body has limitations that make it harder to swim. Could there be a relationship between these facts? Maybe!

Not only is it difficult to propel a long body with short legs, but it's also hard to keep this breed's trademark droopy ears dry and clean. Many Bassets get ear infections if their ears have been in water, so there could be many reasons why a dog like Ronald has unpleasant feelings about water.

Fortunately, a calm human can make a big difference for a hesitant dog. Just take it from Ronald!
