From House Beautiful

Everyone knows that the turkey is the star of Thanksgiving dinner (even if you eat more stuffing and pie than the bird). Your meal will be filled with even more turkey than you were expecting, thanks to Baskin-Robbins’ Turkey Cake.

Believe it or not, the limited-edition ice cream cake has been around in some iteration since the 1970s. However, the shiny, realistic one we have today was created in 2008. The turkey-shaped ice cream cake is back for Thanksgiving 2020 and it’s bound to be the first dessert to go!

As we mentioned, the Turkey Cake looks so real that you might have to double check before cutting in. It’s in the shape of a turkey, using two sugar cone “legs” and a caramel praline topping “glaze.” From Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough to Peanut Butter ‘n Chocolate to Old Fashioned Butter Pecan, you can choose from a range of flavors that will make up the cake. It’ll be a fun surprise for your family when you cut the first slice! Speaking of which, this is the best way to get it.

We know what you’re thinking: These elaborate foods tend to look better in the pictures than in real life. Well, dear reader, Baskin-Robbins was kind enough to send me a Turkey Cake (with Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup ice cream) and I’d go as far as saying that it looks better in person. The glaze is so shiny and the color is on point. There are little green icing details around the base and white details at the end of the drumsticks. I was seriously impressed, and can’t wait to see the reaction on my family’s faces!

In addition the turkey-shaped ice cream cake, Baskin-Robbins is also offering a Harvest Swirl Cake that’s topped with festive leaves and pumpkins. It’s filled with your choice of cake and ice cream, so it’ll be a real treat. For those who are looking for a quick scoop, there is also Pumpkin Cheesecake Ice Cream as the November Flavor of the Month. It combines pumpkin and cheesecake ice creams that are swirled with gingersnap cookie pieces and a cinnamon cream cheese ribbon.

All three of the limited-edition treats are available at Baskin-Robbins shops throughout November while supplies last. You might be able to get certain ones through delivery via DoorDash, Uber Eats, and the Baskin-Robbins mobile app in your area. Sorry, apple pie, but this Turkey Cake has won us over!
