A Barely Driven 1989 Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary Is up for Auction
There’s definitely enough space in your garage for this defining Lamborghini.
A black 1989 Countach 25th Anniversary was just listed for auction on Bring a Trailer. The example of the iconic supercar appears to be in stellar shape and has just 3,500 miles on its odometer.

Lamborghini is the brand it is today because of the Countach. Launched in 1974, the wedge-shaped speed machine laid down the blueprint for every Raging Bull supercar that has followed, including its most recent model, the Revuelto plug-in hybrid. The brash V-12 was in production for 16 years, during which time five different iterations rolled off the line, the last of which was the 25th Anniversary. The final Countach, which debuted in 1988, featured a restyled design courtesy of Horacio Pagani, who’d go on to found hypercar maker Pagani Automobil the next decade.
This U.S.-spec Countach 25th Anniversary is one of just 658 examples built before production ended in 1990. The car’s reworked body, which has an aerodynamic package that’s bigger and bolder than anything that came before, is finished in a glossy coat of black and rides on a set of 17-inch multi-piece racing wheels. The car’s current owner has swapped out its chunky bumper for the smoother one found on European-spec examples of the car and had its rear wing removed. Flip up its scissor doors and you’ll find that the car’s notoriously uncomfortable two-seat cabin is covered in matching black leather, including its recovered dashboard.
The 25th Anniversary variant may have undergone a makeover, but it remained the same beast underneath. This example, like its predecessor, the LP500 Quattrovalvole, has a 5.2-liter V-12 sitting in the engine bay. The brawny mill produces 449 hp and 369 ft lbs of torque, which is routed to the rear wheels by a five-speed manual gearbox. It can sprint from zero to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 185 mph. Despite being over 35 years old, the car remains in very good condition. It has just 3,500 miles on the odometer and comes with a clean Carfax report.
With 10 days left to go in the auction, bidding for the black Countach 25th Anniversary has already reached $388,888. Considering its condition and low mileage, that number seems all but certain to climb skyward in the days to come.
