Some women are turning to plastic surgery to look good when they show off the lower curve of their breasts. From Lady Gaga to Rihanna, celebrities are donning cropped tops to flash the underside of their décolletage. Is this a trend that you’d embrace, or do you keep the girls out of the public eye?

Plastic Surgeon Dr. Andrew Ordon shows an image of the ideal breast underside. Implants can be used to increase the curvature of the breast bottom. This trend of showing the lower part of the breast has led to increased focus on making it look camera-ready.

“It seems like this trend was made for the runway and photos, not real life,” observes ER Physician Dr. Travis Stork. No woman wants to go out to eat and accidentally flash the entire restaurant!

“These fashions were not designed by women, let’s put it that way!” adds Dermatologist Dr. Sonia Batra.

Women who don’t want to go under the knife can do exercises that target the pectorals, and toning in general can help improve that lower shape. But if there isn’t much you can do if you have a short distance from the aureola to the bottom of the curve.

“It’s really amazing to me how much time in your life you’ve spent focusing on breasts,” Dr. Stork muses to Dr. Ordon. “It’s a tough job,” he replies, “but someone’s got to do it!”
