Warner Brothers just released another trailer for Greta Gerwig's highly-anticipated Barbie movie—and we can't stop watching it. The whole Internet seems to be losing it over the star-studded cast (and subsequent memes), but we can't stop thinking about the Barbie Dreamhouse. The iconic doll house has been around since 1962, technically speaking, but is there a real life-size version? And how does it relate to the one we're seeing in the Barbie trailer? The answer is complicated.

Over the decades, there have been life-sized iterations of Barbie's iconic digs. Toys R Us built a Barbie House inside its former Times Square location, while a touring exhibition brought the Mattel magic to Berlin and Florida in 2013. However it wasn't until 2019 that Airbnb took matters into its own hands and temporarily listed a Malibu Dreamhouse in honor of the doll's 60th birthday. With a flat roof, midcentury furniture, and pops of pink, the Airbnb (pictured above!) was the perfect mix of 1960s design and today's Barbiecore fad. The keyword being "was;" Airbnb's Barbie Dreamhouse is no longer available to rent. But HGTV will be whipping up a new mansion for its upcoming show, Barbie Dreamhouse Challenge!

As for the Dreamhouse you probably spotted in the movie trailer? Between the floating vanity mirror and primarily outdoor layout, we have a feeling that the on-screen house is just movie magic. But don't write it off as purely fiction just yet: From the curvy water slide present in today's toy versions to the hot pink palette, it's safe to say the film's set drew inspiration from Mattel's iconic mansions.

The good news is that the dreamy digs we spotted in the trailer are only scratching the surface. As Margot Robbie, the movie's producer and star, teased in an interview with Variety: "You’ll see some dream houses. And it will be everything you ever dreamed of."
