New 'Barbie' Character Posters Reveal a Star-Studded Cast of Dolls

Warner Bros. flooded the internet on Tuesday morning with a massive slate of 24 character posters for its upcoming Barbie movie, revealing a first look at the all-star cast in their live-action, doll-house roles.

Among them, the hotly-anticipated blockbuster film, directed by Greta Gerwig and starring Margot Robbie in the titular role, has added pop artist Dua Lipa to the cast, with an image of the Future Nostalgia singer transformed into a mermaid doll. Joining her, the remaining female-led posters reveal each actress's Barbie personality: Issa Rae is president Barbie; Kate McKinnon is gymnast Barbie; Nicola Coughlan is diplomat Barbie; Alexandra Shipp is writer Barbie; Ritu Arya is journalist Barbie; Hari Nef is doctor Barbie; Emma Mackey is physicist Barbie; Ana Cruz Kayne is judge Barbie, and Sharon Rooney is lawyer Barbie.

The lineup also includes a number of new Ken dolls and human characters. Aside from Ryan Gosling, who plays the lead Ken, subsequent character posters for Ncuti Gatwa, Simu Liu, Kingsley Ben-Adir and Scott Evans are labeled as "another Ken," "Ken again" and "he's Ken too." Michael Cera's poster, meanwhile, reads, "there's only one Alan."

While the film primarily follows Robbie's famed doll, it also chronicles the executive and creative decisions that resulted in her creation, per the trailer. Therefore, a slew of human characters will be played by Will Ferrell, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Helen Mirren, Connor Swindells and Jamie Demetriou.

Barbie premieres in theaters on July 21. Take a look at the official character posters in the gallery above.
