Barbers Are Revealing The Things You Gotta Stop Doing During Your Haircut, And It's Super Interesting To Me
It's summer, so we're all going in for our summer hair ~lewk~ right about now. IDK about you, but I always wonder if I do anything that pisses off my barber. Well, Reddit user u/Drdriftking — who's a barber himself — asked, "Barbers, what are your pet peeves when you are working?"
Barbers came through with some pet peeves that, honestly, we've all probably done when getting a haircut.
Here's some of what they said:
1."Slouching and moving nonstop. Hold still."
2."Making multiple, 'Hey, are you gonna get this spot?' comments before the cut is done. Any of that shit bugs the hell out of me."
3."Parents thinking a child’s cut should be less expensive. That bugs me."
4."When I spin them to look at the side in the mirror and they keep their head pointed forward. Frickin' owls."
5."When the customer says, 'Do what you want' or 'I need a change' and then isn’t open to any new ideas."
6."I'm a barber and can't stand when picky moms want a crispy bald fade on their kid who has a tiny head."
7."Also, moms who want a 7-year-old to get a wacky design when it's super obvious that the kid isn't really into it."
8."Chewing gum! Seriously, it’s a pain in the ass when you're trying to blend in a fade and the whole time, the side of their head is going in and out."
9."People complaining about how expensive the cut is — I don't care that your friend will do it for $20 in 15 minutes."
10."When parents stand right next to you the whole time while you’re cutting their kid's hair."
11."When they come in with a red carpet photo of a celebrity that requires maintenance more than a haircut or hairdressing to attain."
12."People lying about what products they use or have used in the past, when it's so obvious."
13."When someone comes in and asks for something that looks like shit, and I give it to them and they insult me for doing as they asked."
14."Please be on time if you have an appointment. One person being 10 minutes late can mess with my schedule for the rest of the day. This also includes adding random extras to your appointment."
15."If you bring your young child in kicking and screaming and do nothing about it, maybe today isn't the right day for a cut."
16."My least favorite thing was when someone came in with a shitload of gel or product in their hair already. Made their hair really unpleasant to touch and work with."
17."A lot of men don't wash their hair anywhere near as much as they should, and dealing with dandruff-filled, greasy hair is not fun."
