Jenna Bush Hager may have been without Hoda Kotb on the Today show’s fourth hour earlier this week, but she was still in good company when she invited her twin sister, Barbara Bush, to guest cohost with her. Despite the two being so close, Jenna learned something shocking about Barbara while on live TV — and let's just say, Jenna was truly stunned.
On April 19, Jenna was joined by Barbara to celebrate the release of their latest project together, a new children's book called The Superpower Sisterhood. After telling viewers what inspired their third book release, they moved on to other topics. Not too long after, Jenna surprised her sister with a line of questioning that put her on the spot, including if Barbara watches the Today show regularly.
“Well, I’m at work usually,” Barbara admitted. In reply, Jenna asked, “Have you ever watched the show?” Again, Barbara had to concede that she's "seen some Youtube clips."
Even still, the Read With Jenna founder had some hope — that is, until Barbara admitted the biggest truth of all. “Do you follow our Instagram?” Jenna continued. “Maybe,” Barbara replied. “You don’t even follow our Instagram?!” Jenna repeated. “I will,” Barbara promised.
Afterward, the official Instagram account for Today with Hoda and Jenna shared an important public service announcement with folks. “BARBARA ‼️‼️‼️ This morning @jennabhager found out that her sister does not follow @hodaandjenna on Instagram! She's missing out,” a clip of the hilarious moment was captioned. “Don't be like Barbara, make sure you're following us to keep updated on the fun!” Hilariously, Barbara commented back, "Im following now!!!"
Reacting to Barbara’s confession, Today fans posted many laughing emojis. “😂😂😂😂 Love how Barbara didn’t even attempt to lie about not watching her twin’s show. True sibling!!!! 😄,” one person wrote in the comments section. “No way!! She has to watch her sister!! Lol,” another added. “But does she follow the gram now or nah? 😂,” a different fan said.
Jokes aside, many shared how much they loved seeing Jenna and Barbara on the show together. “You two were just precious and so funny today!!!!! I loved you together and hope Barbara will be back soon 🥰🥰🥰😂😂😂😂,” a follower commented. “Can Barbara cohost more often! Maybe even when Hoda is there too?” someone else added.
