UPDATE (December 27, 2022): Shortly after sharing his favorite books and movies of 2022, Barack Obama shared his list of favorite songs.

"I always enjoy sharing my end of year music playlist with all of you -- and this year we heard a lot of great songs," the former U.S. president wrote on social media. "Here are some of my favorites. Are there any songs or artists I should check out?"

The list included 25 different songs, such as "Tití Me Preguntó" by Bad Bunny, "SAOKO" by Rosalía, "Shirt" by SZA, "BREAK MY SOUL" by Beyoncé and "About Damn Time" by Lizzo.

The list highlights different artists from all types of genres, including pop, reggaeton, hip hop and more.

ORIGINAL STORY (December 23, 2022): Barack Obama has shared some of his favorite pop culture things from 2022, which include books and movies.

The former US president wrote on social media, "I always look forward to sharing my lists of favorite books, movies, and music with all of you. First up, here are some of the books I read and enjoyed this year. Let me know which books I should check out in 2023." He then proceeded to share a list consisting of 13 books, which includes his wife Michelle Obama's latest release, The Light We Carry. On that list, he also included Trust by Hernan Diaz, Liberation Day by George Saunders and The School for Good Mothers by Jessamine Chan.

While sharing his list of favorite movies, he wrote, "I saw some great movies this year -- here are some of my favorites. What did I miss?" His film list included The Woman King, Aftersun, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Top Gun: Maverick, Till and 12 more films.
