Barack Obama is en route to becoming the fashion icon of dads and streetwear aficionados alike. Starting with the infamous and highly criticized tan suit during his presidency, to his post-presidency leather jacket look while hanging with Drake and his bomber jacket emblazoned with “44,” it seems now that every time the former POTUS steps out in a casual outfit, the internet explodes. His latest look is no exception.

As Barack and Michelle Obama appeared in Kuala Lumpur at an event for the Obama Foundation, he sported a decidedly cool look: French cuffed chinos with exposed ankles, a fitted polo shirt à la Richie Tenenbaum, and classic Adidas Stan Smith sneakers.

We’ll go out on a limb and say that the Stan Smiths are the hero of this outfit — the wrong shoe would have sent this look into a nerdy tailspin, but this trendy and classic sneaker pulls it all together in a street style-worthy package.
