Barack and Michelle Obama Attend Beyoncé and Jay-Z Concert in Maryland

Fans who attended Beyoncé and Jay-Z's concert in Landover, Maryland on Saturday, July 28 had a pretty amazing treat: Barack and Michelle Obama were also in the audience.

As noted by Glamour, the former president and first lady were spotted in a special VIP section of FedEx Field, where they were seriously having the time of their lives. According to video clips that have since made the rounds on social media, the Obamas were singing along, dancing, and generally having a blast. One Instagram video posted by The Shade Room even shows them engaging with fans who were lucky enough to be seated just below their section.

The Maryland show would mark Michelle Obama's second time seeing Beyoncé and Jay-Z perform in recent weeks. The former first lady was spotted earlier this month while attending the musical couple's Paris concert with her daughter, Sasha. Michelle was even seen dancing in the crowd alongside Beyoncé's mother, Tina Knowles, during that event.

Of course, the Obamas have been friends with Beyoncé and Jay-Z for a long time, so neither concert appearance is too unexpected. In September 2017, Michelle dressed up as Queen Bey to honor the singer on her birthday, and Beyoncé performed at President Obama's inauguration in 2013.

As for the former president, he has spoken fondly of Jay-Z in the past, like when he recorded a video to celebrate his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. "I like to think Mr. Carter and I understand each other," Obama said at the time. "Nobody who met us as younger men would have expected us to be where we are today.... So we try to prop open those doors of opportunity so that it’s a little easier for those who come up behind us to succeed as well." It seems as though the couples' friendship is still going strong — and we're totally here for it.
