Bank teller shares 'mortifying' on-the-job mistake

TikTok user @athenasworld444 recalled a story from a time in which she was new to her job as a bank teller and "nervous as all hell”. She said she had been instructed to use the customer's name three times during every transaction, so that was her aim. After only a couple of interactions, she opened a customer's profile to get his name and found that it said "The Hon" and nothing else. "Just go with it," she said to herself. She proceeded to use the name on his profile until he looked at her strangely. "Why do you keep calling me that?" the man said, according to @athenasworld444's tale. "My name is Steve”. She turned her screen to show him his profile said: "The Hon," and he clarified that it was short for "The Honorable" — he was a judge. "At this point, I'm so embarrassed, I start calling him 'your honor,'" @athenasworld444 said. "And he's like, 'That's not necessary.' And I'm like, 'No, no — you studied a lot. You deserve it’”. She called the whole experience "mortifying" in her caption, but commenters were cracking up thanks to her hilariously embarrassing tale. "If it wasn't necessary, [then why] was it on your profile STEVE??" one user joked
