It's a rough day for country music fans.

The Band Perry, known for popular songs "If I Die Young" and "Better Dig Two," has broken up.

"To our TBP friends and family: We wanted to let you know that the three of us have decided to take a creative break as a group and each focus on our individual creative pursuits," the band wrote in a statement shared on Monday morning via the group's official Twitter and Instagram page.

"During this season we will continue to support each other as artists and family in all we do. Thank you for making our childhood dreams come true! Love you all. Kimberly, Reid and Neil," it concluded.

Fans, while upset, understood the band's statement and shared some bittersweet words of gratitude with the musicians on social media.

"damn. i’m glad i got to see all y’all atleast once in my life and i’m grateful for it. you guys were a big part of me growing up. and i appreciate y’all for being there. it’s a shame but we all still love y’all!" one wrote in the comments on Instagram.

They first rose to fame in 2010, after the success of the band's debut album, a self-titled released nearly 13 years ago that featured the band's breakout hit "Hip to My Heart" and their most successful song to date, "If I Die Young."

Shortly after their first album took off, the group released a second studio album, Pioneer, in 2013. In the years since, the trio released a series of singles before The Band Perry's final EP, Nite Swim, hit airwaves in 2019.

During the band's most active years, the group earned their fair share of awards, including Best Group of the Year at the 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards, a 2015 Grammy Award for Best Country Duo/Group Performance, and the Country Music Association's 2011 Single of the Year.

While the siblings-turned-band members have yet to confirm any upcoming projects, the group's youngest member, Neil, hinted at new music in a comment shared on Instagram, writing, "Nothin but love for you all … exciting things comin🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼🖤🎤🎵." Kimberly also took to Instagram to tease something new, simply captioning the new grid post with "Hi..."
