After a tumultuous few years, cult favorite label Band of Outsiders announced Monday in a press release that it would be relaunching a womenswear component. The brand, which was founded in 2004 before shutting down and rebooting with only menswear in 2016, says it's creating the new collection to appeal to the many female followers who have stuck with the brand through the years.

"People always say they miss the women's wear aspect and we do have a large women's following on social media. They were already very interested in the men's pieces and we had buyers asking for smaller sizes to fit this demand," current brand director Daniel Hettmann told WWD.

The new women's collection will be limited in scope with just eight looks, according to a press release from the brand, and will debut during London Fashion Week Men's in January 2019. Inspired by the space-age aesthetics of the late '60s, the collection will feature dresses and skirts in addition to pieces that look more like the menswear collection, but in women's sizing and fits.

"I am very excited to extend our universe of humor and inclusivity to women," creative director Angela Van Mol said in a release.
