Balloon Fiesta highlighted in USA Today cultural festival list
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – USA Today has named the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta one of the 10 Best Cultural Festivals in the country. The Balloon Fiesta was ranked number eight on the list, ahead of “Aloha Festivals” in Hawaii and the “Bavarian Blast” in Minnesota.

The USA Today ranking highlights the mass ascension, special shapes rodeo, and balloon glows. This year’s Balloon Fiesta is scheduled to start on October 5. New Mexico residents will get in for free on October 7 for the newly-created New Mexico Day. Tickets are already on sale.
The Merrie Monarch Festival in Hilo, Hawaii topped the list.
