The leg-warmers, the sheer tights and ribbons, the abundance of pink, the unapologetic fluffs and frills — what's not to love about balletcore? The TikTok-beloved aesthetic was on full display at the 11th Annual LACMA Art + Film Gala at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this past weekend thanks to Sydney Sweeney's ballet-inspired haute couture look.

The Euphoria and White Lotus star has worn cutout dresses with latex detailing, preppy navy gowns, and crushed velvet mini dresses to previous red carpet affairs, but this time chose (with the help of stylist Molly Dickson) to embrace the over-the-top femininity of a ruffled, baby pink mini dress with ginormous fluffy sleeves. The couture dress, designed by Giambattista Valli, featured rosette tulle, a plunging neckline, and a flirtatious A-line skirt that hit mid-thigh. Sydney wore opaque tights in a matching shade of pink, and added a pop of sparkle with a pair of silver glitter heels with a sky-high platform.

Sydney kept her glam simple. Makeup artist Melissa Hernandez tied the softness of Sydney's dress to the light pink flush across her cheekbones and the soft, lightly glossed pink lip. Keeping with the classic theme, Hernandez gave Sydney a classic winged liner and added a touch of '60s-inspired playfulness with clustered lower lashes. Hairstylist Glen Coco Oropeza did Sydney's blonde hair in a slicked-back ballet bun with a side part, and the actress wore emerald-cut pink stud earrings as her only piece of jewelry.

Sydney stopped on the red carpet to chat with reporters about one of her upcoming projects, Madame Web, and spilled the deets about working with Dakota Johnson to Variety. "I was a little nervous. [...] I'm a huge fan of her. She's so hot." When Variety asked her if she's told Dakota, Sydney replied, "No! But, Dakota, you're hot and I loved working with you."

The Euphoria actress took to Instagram to admit that she herself was "feeling haute" during in her balletcore outfit, and posted a series of photos wearing pointe shoes and doing a series of balletic poses. "It’s very Barbie in the 12 dancing princesses and I’m obsessed 😍," affirmed actress Isabela Merced.

However, the comments from ballet dancers were mixed. "Shoulda done this without the pointe shoes 🤦🏽♀️" commented one, while another noted, "Cute fit but we should leave the pointe shoes to people who can point their feet; it hurts to look at this tbh."
